Wild life? That is how we refer to the magnificent animals of our jungles and to the beautiful birds that brighten our lives. I wonder sometimes what these animals and birds think of man and how they would describe him if they had the capacity to do so. I rather doubt if their description would be very complimentary to man. In spite of our culture and civilization, in many ways man continues to be not only wild but more dangerous than of the so called wild animals. The law of nature is cruel and life is precarious in the forests. The strong kill and eat the weak, and those that are weak seek safety to protect themselves. But this eternal fight is due to the search of food. Man does not eat man, but he kills him for other purposes; and even when he does not kill the body, he kills the spirit. We are strange mixtures of good and evil of civilization and barbarism. We talk in one language but we act differently. Life would become very dull and colourless if we did not have these magnificent animals and birds on which we meditate at. We should therefore encourage as many sanctuaries as possible to preserve the remains of our wild life.
